Far as The limits of my awareness, I believe there is ONE story (very recent) by a black SciFi author (which means most have never heard of them) in which it’s completely reversed (whites were/are slaves - Middle Eastern/African culture dominates the world). But I think that was more in the alternate history/universe, sub genre (AKA; what if the Nazi’s/Confederates won the wars. PLENTY of those floating around).

In a Time Traveler framework? I think you’d have to go back to before the discovery / exploration of the African continent. You’d either have to convince ALL the tribes not to trust ANY western invaders. Or, (BETTER) supply advice / technology to one or more of several powerful Tribes (ie; The Zulu?) to unite the continent and fortify it against colonization (worked for China. Eventually). This might lead to an African country in control of it’s own resources and capable of fending off unwanted intrusion. Potentially creating a geopolitical/military force to be reckoned with rather than subjugated/exploited.

I would read the FUCK outta something like that
